March 1, 2026 So many of us grow into adulthood without ever learning how to soothe ourselves, to deeply relax, or to experience genuine inner peace and tranquility in our minds and bodies. Life can be deeply stressful at times, often filled with events that activate our anxiety and fears. But worries can be realistic, and, as a result of past experience, they can also be inflated. Regardless, knowing how to calm, comfort, and soothe our own nervous system is essential for navigating adult life. When we become skillful at soothing ourselves, the way we experience the world can change dramatically.


It is never too late to learn how to soothe and comfort the parts of ourselves that hold anxiety, stress, and fear. As we do this, not only do we experience more calm, peace and tranquility, but we also experience more trust, whether that’s trust in ourselves, others, the external environment or the future.
